In an effort to be proactive in our home-school communication, please find below our Weekly Update for November 9-13

At Bobcaygeon PS we practise Empowering Leadership and Celebrating Greatness – We are a Leader in Me School.


Head Checks – – We would appreciate any volunteers who would be willing to help with monthly head checks . If we can get a team together the less time it will take but no more than a couple of hours of your time each month. Training will be provided.

Wool Donations – – Each winter the Bobcaygeon Knitting Club provides hand-knit mittens, toques and slippers for our students to use. We would like to show our appreciation by providing them with donations of wool to create their masterpieces . Any amount/colour/texture is accepted and appreciated as the kids enjoy the warmth of the most colourful of the bunch.

The grade 7/8 students are traveling to Quebec City in June for their year end trip. They are selling Christmas Bulbs as a fundraiser to help off-set the cost of their trip. If you would like to sponsor a specific student, please contact them, if you would like to support the school subsidies of the trip, please see attached (page1, page2, page3) forms and submit directly to the Office. If you would like a colour copy of the brochure for sales, please email infobob@tldsb.on.ca with subject line: CHRISTMAS BULBS.

There is still space in the 6 Week Swimming Program for students in grades 3-8. The form is attached or available in the Office. Cost is $20.00. Please submit to the Office. Students will need to bring their suits, towel and a plastic bag for wet things. A warm hat to wear back to the school is also a good idea to pack.

Remembrance Day is Wednesday. Two students from each class K-8 have been nominated by their teacher to attend the Royal Canadian Legion Cenotaph and a special lunch. Permission forms will be sent home tonight. The school service is being held at 10:30 AM. Our community members are welcome to attend.

Annual Community Theatre Trip to see Beauty and the Beast (see attached). Open to all students only until November 27th. After that will be open to community. Adults may sign up for the wait list.

There is still space in the Royal Winter Fair Enrichment being held on Thursday , Nov. 12th with Ms. McCardle. Cost is $30. The Permission form is attached or is available in the Office.

Festival of Trees: We have been invited to the Festival of Trees on Thursday, November 12th. All classes will be walking over to view the trees. Thank you to Ms. Picken for organizing and to Settler’s Village for supporting.

The Bobcaygeon Music Council has offered a free guitar concert for the school on Friday , November 13th from 1:10-2:10. All are welcome. MODIFIED: BMC is now offering a guitar and song-writing workshop.

Looking forward: Pizza/Pita Orders due Nov 12 (forms in office); Photo Retake Day is Friday the 13th (Retakes require a written note from parent/guardians); Mon. Nov. 16th K Fluoride Treatment and Gr. 7 Menactra Vaccine Day from Health Unit; November 20th is a PA Day. Stay tuned for a follow up email re additional free morning clubs that are available to students. Contact the school to register.
