A message from the Bobcaygeon Curling Club
Once again, the B.C.C. offered curling instructions for students, grades 5 to 8,from the local public school. This year, 42 signed up and we averaged 32 students per session.
Liana Oliver co-ordinated the school’s participation and we supplied the equipment, qualified instructors and volunteers.
The members who helped and gave their time were Dennis St. Jacques, Dee Savourin,Jan and Bryce Warwick, Al Ingram, Laura Ferguson, Marlene Henry, Sandy Reynolds, Ron Piesanen, Janet Wilson, Andy Easton, Roger Richard, Linda Parkhill, Trevor Trotter, Norm Stanley, John Morton, Murray and Angie Thompson,Lloyd McInroy, Marilyn Madgett and Gord Salmon.
The instructions were held every Monday and Thursday from 4-5 p.m. for the months of January and February.
A windup bonspiel and prize presentation was held on February 23rd. Pizza, pop, cake and loot bags were issued to all the children. Many parents and relatives attended and a retirement gift was presented to Liana because she is retiring this year.
Hats off to all those who supported and helped make this another rewarding season.
