Bobcaygeon Public School is excited to host Chris D’Souza on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Chris is a motivational speaker and human rights strategist.
Grade JK-4 Workshop:
1:05-1:40pm – entitled, “Love and Learn” focuses on respectful language and being kind to oneself and others. It incorporates two original children’s books and two songs to make it very interactive. Families and teachers are encouraged to pre-teach the original song, “I want you to be nice to me” which can be found at www.Chrisdsouza.ca
Grade 5-8 Workshop
12:00-1:00pm -titled “What does your student leadership look like?”. It will examine race, gender and other complex identities as well as respect, appropriate language and the importance of student leaders to create a culture of dignity. It will also have an Indigenous component using “Kicking the Elephant’s Ankle” an original children’s book.
About The Presenter:
Chris D’Souza has been an equity and anti-oppression activist for over 20 years and has delivered over 5000 Equity and Inclusion lectures/workshops to agencies across Canada. He has a Masters in Equity studies and has taught at York and Brock University. He was bestowed a National award by the Harmony Movement recognizing his commitment to Anti oppression and he has graced the cover of three Educational and Corporate magazines. His current focus is developing Racialized and Indigenous talent in order for them to ascend the corporate ladder and he works with HR, ER and DEI departments to help recruit, retain and promote individuals from these targeted demographics.
