Dear Parents/Guardians, February 27, 2023
Over the course of the last month, we have been reviewing the Appropriate Use of Technology Procedure for the Trillium Lakelands District School Board and as a team we have identified a need for updated procedures in regards to personal device use within the building.
Personal devices are not to be out or used during school hours. If you need to get in touch with your child throughout the school day, please contact the school directly. |
What happens if a student is seen with their personal device at school?
- Student will be asked to bring their device down to the office.
- Student will sign their phone into the locked cabinet.
- Student will be responsible for picking up their device from the office AND signing it back out on the sign out chart.
- Parent/Guardian will be contacted if it becomes an ongoing concern.
Who has access to the cabinet that I can ask to retrieve my device?
- Principal
- Vice Principal
- Secretaries
Where can I keep my personal device so that it is safe?
- Personal locker with personal lock
- Backpack in the classroom
- At home if not required
We will continue to support our learners to ensure that there are limited distractions during the instructional day and that we provide opportunities for them to engage in social interactions with peers and staff.
If there are any questions or concerns please contact the school administration.
We appreciate your continued support in your child’s education.
Andrea O’Leary & Whitney Berry
